In the United States, electric truck sales increased threefold in 2023, although they still represented less than 0.1% of total truck sales. This indicates a significant potential for growth as policies and infrastructure continue to develop in favor of electric vehicles.

Motiv Power Systems has unveiled its latest innovation, the Argo electric truck . This new vehicle is designed for a wide range of applications, marking a pivotal moment in the evolution of electric commercial vehicles.

The Argo is Motiv’s proprietary electric powertrain, which enhances its performance and reliability. The truck’s versatility is a standout feature, as it can be customized with different body configurations, including cargo boxes, flatbeds, and more, making it a perfect fit for numerous industries and a wide range of applications.

Available in multiple configurations, Argo supports dock height for lower-profile applications and a more comprehensive range of truck body lengths for work site vehicles (short dump trucks and aerial lifts), walk-through delivery trucks (step vans), dry freight or refrigerated trucks up to 30 feet long, and buses.

Key Features

  • Heavier payloads, farther: Argo trucks haul up to 14,000 pounds of payload and can drive up to 200 miles.
  • Safety: Safety is a top priority in the Argo’s design. Its safety-focused design prioritizes visibility, with forward command seating, low beltlines, larger windshields, and a low curbside window. These elements provide drivers with a clear view of their surroundings, ensuring pedestrian safety. Additional visibility enhancements are offered through front and rear cameras and optional e-mirrors.
  • Diesel-equivalent torque: Argo’s patented motor and controller, co-developed with Nidec, offers torque comparable to a Class 8 diesel and motor performance equivalent to an 800V system, all using a 400V system compatible with all DC fast chargers.
  • Compatible with 14-foot to 30-foot truck bodies: The Argo has wheelbases ranging from 178 to 252 inches. Available in a dock-height configuration with standard 295/75R22.5 tires or a lower-profile height with 245/70R19.5 tires, Argo works in almost any medium-duty application.
